Students were showcased this past weekend at the San Francisco Chinese New
Year’s Parade. The students did
an outstanding job of performing
while walking the parade route through
San Francisco’s Union Square ending in China Town.
Many hours were
spent in preparation for the big event. Parents worked with the students
to prepare them in traditional Chinese music and dance. Parents also
created the beautiful costumes and other materials for the event. I am
very proud of our students, as they were able to stay focused and
concentrate on their routines, while being watched and televised on the
local T.V. stations in our area. A big thanks to Event Chairperson, Anita
Yee, for making this a very special event for students and families in
attendance. Our next group of classes in our After School Enrichment
Program (ASEP) will begin at the end of March. Students will be preparing
for an end of the year performance at the CLIP banquet in June.
We will also be
presenting our school’s production of Honk Jr. this month. Students in
the production have spent many hours preparing to dazzle their audience
this coming week. Mrs. Debbi Tuck and Mrs. Valerie Abeshima are
coordinating this production. Our HONK JR. performances will be on March
4, 5, 11, and 12th at 7:00 p.m. and on March 6th and
13th at 2:00 p.m. We invite all of our parents and school
community to attend this event!
