To All Members
of the Meyerholz School Community,
Greetings to all
who are returning to Meyerholz for another school year and to new students
and their families joining us for the first time! We are happy to have
you here at our school that joins together three programs: Our
Neighborhood, Cupertino Language (Mandarin) Immersion Program(CLIP) and
Special Day classes(SDC). This unique configuration of strands within one
school and the wonderful talent of our staff and parents allow us the
opportunity to provide Meyerholz students with many options to develop
their individual strengths/interests.
This year, we
will continue several treasured traditions: the annual school musical in
March; San Francisco Lunar New Year Parade / Cupertino Unity Parade;
performances from Primary and Upper Grade Choruses; family gatherings for
fun and education; Fall Walk-a-thon and Spring Family Night; and more.
Our students continue to grow, as reflected in measures of academic
achievement and their understanding of how they can, collectively and
individually, make a positive difference in the world. We celebrate our
outstanding Student Council and staff advisors, who lead Meyerholz in its
support of our school’s families and community. School spirit is inspired
by our Meyerholz Staff Rock Band and sports / running activities at lunch
and after school. CLIP was recognized by the Cupertino City Council this
month for eight years of success as a dual immersion program. Our
performing arts program also is honored in the district for the start of
its eighth season of musical performances. All of these accomplishments
have evolved because of the partnership we have between students, staff,
parents, and Meyerholz alumnae, who work together, sustaining these
remarkable accomplishments. We need you to continue what we are as a
school now and look ahead with us in creating new traditions.
We welcome you
to the Meyerholz Family. Help us be safe, as we walk and drive
around our campus. Help us to care for and support one
another in our work with the Meyerholz Parent Teacher Association (PTA),
School Site Council (SSC), and Cupertino Language Immersion Program
Community Organization (CLIPCO). Help us by being part of the events
throughout the school year that make OUR Meyerholz the school it is. All
my best to each of you and your families.
Warm regards,
Marjorie
