Meyerholz PTA Home - Welcome

President’s Welcome

Welcome new and returning students and parents to Meyerholz Elementary School. My name is Mary Lund and I will be the PTA President for the 2008 - 2009 school year. Meyerholz is a warm and caring environment with a wonderful principal, teachers, and staff.

Please come to the Welcome Coffee(s) on the first day of school, Thursday 21 August 2008 at 8:35AM and 10:30AM (for late start kindergarten parents and others). We would love to meet you!

Your student will bring home a “First Day Packet” on Thursday, 21 August, 2008. Please find the Meyerholz PTA School Calendar (link).  New this year is a single page calendar for quick reference to all the events at Meyerholz by month. 

On the back side of the yellow-bound PTA calendar, there is a brief synopsis of the programs being sponsored by the PTA this year. There is also a brief explanation of fundraising events we sponsor to help provide funding for the many important school activities. 

Please fill out your Volunteer Form (OR go to: www.meyerholz.ptomanager.com) to help with any of our school events.  We will have a secure database that will enable committee chairs to request volunteers.  There is  "no guilt" if you are not available to help with a specific activity.

Our first PTA meeting will be Tuesday, September 2nd at 7:00 p.m.  We meet in the GLC (the library).  Come and be a voice for your child and community!

PTA MEMBERSHIP

Become a PTA Member and help support our school!  The purpose of PTA is to enrich our students academically and socially.  PTA supports teaching and learning by providing funding for programs, materials, supplies, and equipment.  We coordinate volunteer support to directly benefit our students.  We create a working partnership among parents, teachers, and our school administration.  Here is a sampling of what we provide your children:

  • Music and Art curriculums

  • Student wellness programs: Noontime

  • Parent Education Seminars and Educational Family Math Nights

  • Running Program, Playground and P.E equipment, and Physical Education for every class

  • New Books for the Library and Classrooms, plus technology upgrades for our Computer Lab

  • Opportunities for all students to participate in Meyerholz’s distinguished enrichment events like the school-wide Musical, Chorus, assemblies, etc.
