The
Meyerholz staff and I welcome you to the 2010-2011
school year. I am pleased
and excited to be part of the Meyerholz community, and look forward to the
upcoming school year. Meyerholz is unique being both a neighborhood
school and also having the CLIP (Cupertino Language Immersion Program) on
our campus. In addition, we also have two Special Day Classes and
students mainstream into the neighborhood classrooms. Although we have
several programs, we truly are one school where students come to school
everyday in a caring environment with academic rigor.
At Meyerholz School, we provide a challenging educational program for
every student, while building a sense of positive self-worth essential to
academic and social success. Thanks to the joint efforts of the
community, school district, and the CUSD employees, we are able to
maintain 20:1 class sizes in grades 1-3 for the 2010-2011 school year.
Our teaching staff is comprised of outstanding educators who always put
"children first". They care about every student, and push him or her to
reach their personal best. Teachers use a variety of teaching strategies
and methods to stimulate children's natural curiosity and desire to learn.
We focus on opportunities for students to take real-life experiences and
make connections to new information. Students are constantly provided with
opportunities to work collaboratively and problem-solve.
We invite parents to become active by volunteering or joining us at a PTA,
SSC, or MCAC, or CLIPCO meeting. Working together, we provide the best
possible educational setting for your child.
Sincerely,
Lisa Hickey |
